Weekend Update

Since I got little done on my house last weekend (other than my own bathroom) I did some mighty serious cleaning on Sunday. The house was presentable before I went on vacation but leaving three cats on their own for two weeks and now having been home for another two the volume of cat hair was excessive and their bathroom desperately needed cleaning. (And by that I mean their bathroom - not their litter box which was of course the day after I arrived back in the country) - but they get a whole bathroom to themselves b/c of the whole "we have to kick the litter everywhere syndrome" and sometimes I can't get around to sweeping every single day.

But the house - common areas at least - are very shiny and clean now. (Only my own bedroom now needs work.)

Also saw two shows this weekend. Ushered for Welcome Home Jenny Sutter with Synchronicity on Friday and went to see Cannibal the Musical with Larry on Saturday. Cannibal (as I think everyone already knows) is fantastic and I laughed my ass off. Jenny Sutter was OK. Not my favorite show of theirs. I liked the script and the supporting actors but thought the lead was a little young to play the part - and not even age-wise but to really pull off the age of the character's soul.

Had thought to hit some festivals - either Pine Lake's or the Greek Festival - but the cleaning was going way too well.

Sunday night was dinner with my cousins at Six Feet Under. Yummy as always. Some huge loud party was going on next door at Ria's. Seemed a little energetic for a SUnday night but folks seemed to be having fun.

Also watched the new SciFi channel show Sanctuary. I kind of liked it although I haven't found anyone else who does yet. It's definitely not their best work and I have seen similar material other places and they will probably run out of storyline in a season but it's nice to have something in the fantasy genre to look forward to. (It and Fringe are my two shows I was looking forward to this fall. I am still watching Fringe but I think it might be a little too JJ Abrams, i.e., not giving enough of the overall plor arcs each episode. So I just have Dollhouse to look forward to as a midseason and the return of the final portion of BSG. If only I like reality TV, sports, or sitcoms I might have little more to watch on TV.)
