William is home

It actually took a bit of wrangling to get him inside last night. I saw him creeping onto the back porch and towards the outdoor kitty's food. So I opened the back door expecting him to bolt inside. Um, no, he bolted off the deck, around the corner, and into the basement (there are a couple of openings in the base of the house through which an animal can go directly from the back yard to the basement). He was crying the whole time.

Needless to say I was afraid he was hurt. (He is not.)

SO I went and spent a while in the yard beside the opening but he wouldn't come out. Would just peek him head through the opening.

So I moved up onto the deck. Once he had crept back out I started shaking the treat jar, which did get his attention. I slowly crept towards him and he towards me being attracted by the treats. Once he was within reach I grabbed him up and brought him back inside.

But what very wierd behavior. My cats are so neurotic.
