I accomplished quite a lot this past year. I kept myself busy and I tried to be as adventurous as possible. There's still so much I want to do and experience. Let's see if we can make 2023 better than 2022...
1. Be able to do 10 pull-ups by the end of the year. In 2020 I managed to get into really great shape and I was able to do maybe 8? I have since stopped and I can't really even get past 1 now! This is part of an even larger goal to stop being so lazy and get back the body I had. I would also like to get back down to at least 105lbs, but it would be nice to be under 102lbs.
2. Host a party sometime this year. Whether it be a summer thing, or a Halloween party, or a Christmas party, I would like to be able to have people over. This requires me to clean and organize a great deal. But it's ridiculous I haven't had anyone over in years, that's just not normal.
3. Repeat: Run a 5k in under 25 minutes. While I was running more last year, it wasn't enough and I never got to run any 5ks. When I forced myself to run the Christopher Martin 5k in December of 2021, even without training for it, I managed to finish with a time of 28:05 - and that includes slowing down and jogging backwards to wait for someone. I think with actual training, I could probably knock my time down 3 minutes. It would be exciting to be a better runner.
4. Travel out of the country this year at least once. It's been a while since I have left the United States. While I have a ton of plans to travel within the U.S., I do also have plans to go to Canada this April, so this should be an easy goal to hit. However if I can go somewhere else as well, that would be nice. Maybe Iceland? Ireland? Mexico?
5. Take the bike out at least 3 times this year. I slacked a LOT this year on the biking. I need to make sure I set aside some time for some good rides. I had finally gone to the end of the canal and back 2 years ago, but 2022 I did not repeat that quest. There are also some really great bike paths I would like to try out in different parts of the state.
I think this year will be a good one. In addition to these goals, I would also like to do some painting, and start playing the piano again. Maybe go to one of those aerial silks classes too. We'll see. :)
