OH, I don't want to be here. The alarm woke me up this morning and thought I have to work tomorrow, do I really have to go in today? I feel like I should at least be able to come in late. After all, we don't see any patients of Fridays. I want to be at home, sleeping, catching up on TV, crocheting, playing around on the internet, working on fic, going out to see Reno 911 Miami. I shouldn't even be updating, but I am. And I have to deal with this one patient who didn't get good information over the phone about the procedures DW does with her new patients (my predecessors' doing, I'm certain) and now wants her money back. The good part is that I get to listen to whatever I want. On a related note, I've decided I like Dashboard Confessionals.
Just like with the temp jobs, I'm learning a lot here. So here's the first installment of Lessons in Dentistry:
- I like Dashboard Confessionals.
- Bringing Down the Horse is good to listen to while at the dentist's office.
- Bright Eyes is not good to listen to while at the dentist's office. (Even though I do like his stuff on a normal basis).
- It's spelled "Gingivectomy" not "Gingavectamin."
- White-out is not a suitable tooth-colouring agent.
- I can talk "shop" with my sister! That is, if she ever makes it back out here.
- Chocolate is okay for your teeth, because unlike most sugary candies, it melts. I have another excuse!
- Excuses are like assholes. Everybody has one.
- The Broadway Deli's logo is a bagel, not a stylized "o" in Broadway.
- Broadway Deli has FANTASTIC Pastrami sandwiches. (A thanks to Dad for the recommendation.)
- I have mad html skillz. Okay, so this one isn't technically employment related, but still.
- Getting to know the baristas at your new regular coffee/beverage place is good for the pocketbook.
- I don't ever want to have to have crown lengthening.
- Or a Gingivectomy.
- Don't grind your teeth when you sleep. It's expensive.
- Orchids are pretty and make everything better and knowing that I'm the one taking care of watering something that not only survives my care watering, but still looks so pretty makes me feel warm inside. (Seriously, I've killed cacti before. That's cacti. As in more than one cactus.)
- David Grey's kinda cool, too.
- The papers for what they're hoping is the next Harry Potter phenomena are in the works. I can't tell you what franchise this is, because they guy who told me this much couldn't tell me anything more, and I may have revealed too much already.
- This Beltane, I can look forward to dancing around the May poll while listening to Tori's new CD.
- If it smells good, the pregnant women go nuts.
- If it smells bad, the pregnant women go nuts.
- I need to start looking for a place.
- If I leave work at 7, I'll be home by around 7:20.
- If I leave work at 6, I'll be home by around 7:10.
- Rush hour traffic in LA sucks.
- Have a good CD in your car.
- Don't mess with "The Route."
- Spectrum has Ritmo Latino on Friday nights.
Mom said last night that she feels like the real "me" has returned. I'm not sure I'm quite there, yet. But close.
