Severe spoilers for tonight's/last night's Lost, "Two For the Road"
MICHAEL? MICHAEL? WTF?
But let's back up.
Dr. Christian Shephard Has everyone on this island met Jack's Dad? And who didn't see Sawyer showing up in front of that bar a mile away? Okay, that was phrased poorly. What I meant was, all "connections" between the characters on the island have gotten so predictable.
And is it just me, or was Dr. Shepard asking to see his daughter? Whaddya wanna bet it's someone on the island? My guess would be Claire, since the woman in the house seemed to look a little like her. (Although I think Claire mentioned something about her father once? I can't seem to remember what it was, so maybe I'm wrong.)
JUNGLE SEX!!!! Was that not the hottest thing ever! I only wish they had shown more. Damn prime-time no nudity rules! Also, way to go Ana for using sex against Sawyer! Conning the con man, yeah baby!
Fare thee well, Ponce de Leon aka Ana Lucia Cortez Maybe all this isn't actually such a bad thing for Ana Lucia. I mean, don't get me wrong, she's still a kick-ass character who should have been one of the last ones to get killed, and I'll miss her terribly. But I've heard some theories that the main characters on Lost don't seem to die until they've resolved their issues. In the flashback, we see that she seemed to be on her way to reconciling with her mother. But she still had one huge cloud still hanging over her.
After killing Jason, she didn't know if she was capable of murder again. I know she felt she was avenging her lost child, and she might have gotten off if his death had ever found its way to a jury, but it was a murder which she did try to conceal. The two "Others" she killed were in self-defense, and whatever "Henry" may have believed, in her heart, she knew otherwise. So when it came down to her own test, when it came down to murdering someone else who had nearly killed her, she couldn't do it. In the throws of a fight, she might have been able to, but not murder. Murder out of revenge for herself wasn't truly in her heart. Unlike certain other people whose own father even knew they capable of murder.
So if Goodwin did indeed think she had the potential to be one of their "good people," he was partly right. If he had really decided that he wanted her, though, he would have told her that he could bring her to the kids. So maybe he still wasn't sure, as she wasn't. But before she was killed, she was put through her final test and resolved the last of her issues, proving to herself that she truly is a "good" person. Imperfect and flawed, and perhaps still in the need for some redemption, but essentially good.
Fucking ABC!!! Dude, the recaps on
ABC's Lost page have been getting terrible:
...This wouldn't be LOST if things ended up happy and hopeful. So, as the episode draws to a close we are taught yet another lesson about the dark side of mankind..and what we are capable of doing when there appears to be no other choice.
And now, I come back to Michael. Now I'm back to being pissed off. WTF? They don't even mention that Michael MURDERED TWO PEOPLE! And what's this shit about no other choice? SHE HANDED HIM THE FUCKING GUN!!!! He's lost it. He's totally lost it. Seriously. He's more bat-s**t insane than Libby when she was giving Hurley and "Dave" that creepy stare at the mental hospital.
And now, I go cry myself to sleep hit the sack.
