"Friends page tonight" or "Idea of where"

LJ, I know it's been a while. I hardly recognize the place. It's disheartening. First off, for some reason, when I try to go back on my friends page, it jumps from February 19th to August 22, 2013 and it won't go back any further. It's so weird. But it's far more than just the layout and (possible) glitches, though I find those annoying. It's ( Read more... )

pieces of me: all she needs is therapy, pieces of me, buried deep in my heart, really deep thoughts, deep in my heart, communities

Hey, welcome back! It's nice to see a familiar face (name?)! I don't post much myself anymore. Most of it is private - mostly because I don't think anyone would care to hear about my posts. It's a diary of sorts.

I miss the activity. Especially with the X-Files folks, but alas, even I have tired of the X-Files to an extent. Which I thought would never come...

I mainly check out the page called "the question club" (Forgot how to do links here) which is quite active and interesting when I want to post. :)

I miss the old days of comaraderie (sp?) and the sharing of music, etc.

However I still value the site because it's been invaluable to be able to look back in time at my own life. Great reflective tool.

Hope all is well!

Haha! Yeah! It seems like LJ was feeling the same way as I have been because I got an email from them about encouraging people to come back to their LJ accounts. Now sure how that's going. Maybe we'll get some familiar handles becoming active again.

I seem to remember a "Writer's Block" thing that LJ used to have. I didn't always answer, but I did like those things. They might have it still, but I can't seem to find it. From what I've been seeing, the most active stuff seems to come from ohnotheydidnt type communities. LJ's version of a trashy magazine. I'm not much of a gossip, so they hold very little interest for me.

I hear you.

I try to keep up, but I miss what LJ used to be. I feel as if I developed closer friendships with people years ago than I do today.

That being said, I am guilty of importing my tweets. I am also guilty of dropping off for awhile. I get so busy that I just have to tune out for awhile.

I was involved in several communities which have gone dormant. It's sad because this used to be *the* place to be.

That being said, I do spend a lot of time following my fandom interests on Tumblr...a great place for that.

Oh! And I would *never* purge! I would try and download all I had before I did that. I have kept journals since I was 9...since 2000, my journalling has been all electronic.

I don't know if LJ was ever the place, and these days I think people should probably spend less time on-line than they do. I realize the irony of saying such a thing on-line, and I'm certainly guilty of spending too much time on-line myself, but "Dropping off" is probably a healthy thing to do sometimes ( ... )

I still visit LiveJournal even if I don't post often myself. Being limited to using a phone for Internet access most of the time makes it harder to post long entries or comments.

I had been doing some work from home three nights a week via a hot spot, but the need for the overtime ended so I haven't been getting on the computer as much lately.

My friends list has been very quiet lately with the exception of some published authors that have LiveJournal accounts.

Aw, I've missed you, babe! To be honest, when I don't see you on-line, I usually figure it's because you've got two growing kids running around, which is plenty explanation by itself for not being on-line. At least last time I heard it was two kids. I think there's a husband and/or a job in there, too.

See, this is why I need get on LJ more, and why I wish not so many folks had left. I get so far behind on peoples' lives that I don't know what they're up to anymore and I feel like I've missed so much. I guess what I'm saying is, we should catch up! I mean, you know, sometime when you have internet access. Maybe we could email, that way it'll get sent when you do have internet, and you can read replies when you have access as well, rather than worry about getting cut off mid-conversation/messaging.

I've missed you too. Right now I don't have any messaging programs installed on my computer. Since I'm almost never online, there doesn't seem to be any point you know?

Still two kiddos (10 and 2), a husband and a job (with a commute). We should catch up. Email would work, or if you are on FaceBook I'm a little more active there.

I understand about IM programs. I always forget to sign on to mine, but even when I do, there doesn't seem to be a whole of people I know on there anymore, either. I suspect most folks have gone over to other types of IM programs, as well. Skype, maybe? I don't even know what most people use these days and it makes me feel like I'm getting old.

Oh my goodness! Little G can't be 10! Now I really feel like I'm getting old.

I'm not on FB, I'm afraid. This weekend's busy, but I'll try to shoot you an email sometime next week. Or maybe just post a general update here on LJ. I'll try for both.
