So, a certain friend of mine contacted me a few weeks ago to say ‘hey you’ve been in the UK for a couple of months now and we STILL haven’t met up, that’s just disgraceful. I’m between dissertations at the moment, so what say we hook up somewhere?’ And that’s basically how I ended up in York with Hazel and friends on June 17th for a night of ( Read more... )

I liked York. Cept driving round there was a pain. York Minister was a good climb. I support the drunk argument though.. except after like 10pm when everything freaking shuts.

I support the potato proposition in terms of usage versatility, but onion in flavour.

yeah i think you need to know people in york so you can go to house parties after everything closes...

it all depends on your definition of versatility doesn't it? i would argue the onion is more versatile because it's used in more recipes and you can use it with more things...

The onion may be used in more recipies, but an onion is an onion. If its raw, or if its fried, or baked, or whatever, its generally still an onion. The genius of the potato is that it can be enjoyed in a variety of forms and with a myriad of accessories. Ahh potato, my old friend, how the world treats you with so little respect. But we'll show them... we'll show them all...

yeah but just about every potato dish has onions in it, and onion goes with everything else as well from stir fries to roast to pasta to indian etc. etc....
