They have routine for the mornings after. They meet up and have a greasy breakfast and then they go browsing instruments, just like the old days, before The Avengers went platinum and all they could afford was to look and drool, not touch.

Tony loves going to music store with his band and right now he's still slightly buzzed and that just makes it all better. They try to control themselves, they really do, but it's not everyday they put out a new album and the after-party might have gone slightly out of control. Well, no one ended up in the hospital and Thor only lost his shirt, he didn't jump naked into the pool again and him and Bruce didn't break anything of importance, so in Tony's book it's all good.

He's sitting next to Steve, leaning up against him with his eyes closed, listening to his soft playing. Tony knows exactly what Steve's face looks like right now, he always get this soft, dreamy look when he's finding the right guitar and Tony's not envious, no, not at all.

“You're brining her home?” Tony asks.

“I don't know... I mean, she's great, but I already have-”

“You have seen Clint's bass collection, right?”

“Yes, and your collection of recording equipment, Mr. But-this-is-a-/different/-kind-of-looping-machine-”

“Don't call my babies that, they're so much more than that. Besides, with the rate Bruce shreds his drumsticks and totals his kit...”

“You like fixing it.” Steve says, voice warm and a bit distant as he changes the song and starts humming under his breath. Further back in the store Clint and Thor starts playing duelling banjos with Bruce and Natasha clapping and laughing and Tony has coffee and a warm Steve at his side and for the moment, he is content.

“If you're not going to buy her yourself, then I'm going to. If you asks nicely I'll even let you borrow her now and then.” Tony says, resting his head on Steve's shoulder. “If you're good.”
