I confess to having some qualms about this case, or this place's legal system. It is extreme, but it is the law, and I will do my job. That is the von Karma way. I've been waiting too long for this...
... but I'm working with Miles now. That is both elating and utterly vexing. If I am working with Miles, I cannot see my victory as finally surpassing him, and yet... working beside him makes it sound as if I am his equal. Perhaps that is good enough.
I will not be upstaged by anyone in that court. Especially not since this case is so foolishly publicized.
But what about Balthier? Hm, I'm not exactly surprised... he was a pirate, but... he seemed a sensible fellow. Not that I haven't seen logical and fools both commit crimes. He is the defendant. I will prosecute him, and I will win, and I won't win simply because of Miles' assistance.
