HOliday Update
Happy Holidays to all. I didn't get a chance to post something sooner. I worked the week before the holiday and it was so rough, I just came home, took a hot shower, wrapped my foot in a heating pad and went to bed. I'd been caring for a catatonic patient that has really kept me challenged. He's coming around slowly. Luckily most of my other patients have been less needy.
The kid had a big Christmas. She didn't get a puppy, but she got just about everything else she could think of to wish for. New camera cell phone and the nintendo DS thing were big hits. My awesome hunky neighbor surprised me by piling a half cord of wood on my porch in the corner...wow. I LOVE fireplaces...we have a fire almost every night. I spent the day home and went to my brother's for dinner. I was supposed to work but was quitting when I was suddenly told it was a big mistake and they'd give me off...nice. Now I also have NY's. I got to do the day after shopping thing, took my brother and his wife with me. We all got boots, different styles of course . Got a few things for my trip to Chicage in March.
THe tidal wave thing is mindboggling. One of the nurses I work with has a son in Thailand on vacation. She got a call but it was cut off, she was relieved to know he was alive, although she has no clue where or with what circumstances. The pictures are unsettling. Just when you think things are rough, you think of this kind of horror. A 40 ft wall of water and no where to escape...almost movie stuff you think couldn't really happen. So sad.
