Starting to come together...
Friday was the last game. Over 4 hrs on a school bus on a freezing night with 30 high schools kids is..hmmm. You get the idea. Amazing how much time running the kid to band twice a week at 530 then picking her up at 830 takes up. Not to mention the games and competitions.
Job search is over. Have a new job, not sure if I'll like it or not but the pay is really good and the benefits best I've had in a while. Lot of concern off my mind for a while. Had to find a job in 63 days from the last one and did it almost to the day...rofl. Got a purple magnet in the mail that made my day with warm fuzzies and is prominently posted on my fridge. Things are coming together finally.
Now I'm more settled, completely reformatted and reloaded 4 computers...one for the computer room, the laptop, one for granny, and one for the kid. Have them ghosted so it won't take so long next time. Have a couple more to get done when I get to it. Still have lots of unpacked boxes, but I had unopened boxes 7 years after the last move. The DMV is its own little experience...an all day nightmare of 'state' employees and nonsense. I need about two more trips to LA to get the last of my stuff. I've been down several times, but its been fast come down, grab a van load and run home for school trips. I've found the vital things now...finally. Bought a sofa for the living room, moved the old one to the kids lounge in the basement. My sister-in-law came over and helped one day. She likes the view...there is a HUNK next door that works outside all day next door with no shirt on...shame cold weather is coming. Painted part of the basement, put in cheap carpet, new toys, and fenced an area for Melissa and Sandy. Its getting cold so they got a new blanket for their little wooden 'house'. The areas is about 7x10...so much for a cage...grin. Sandy was a bat and melissa a devil for halloween. Went to the train museum for a Halloween haunted train. It was neat if you like old trains, haunted train and hayride more aimed at very young kids. I bought a digital video camera yesterday but haven't figured it out yet. Looks like it needs more software to download to a computer...or something.
Spending time with family. Sucker that I am for kids, I've bought quite a bit for the babies who have little. Both babies severely congested with snot running for days and she had no clue how to suction a nose....sigh. There should be a law about 20 year olds having 3 kids, little parenting skills, no education, and a boyfriend who gets a check for mental problems and doesn't want to work...sigh. Actually there IS, it says she is not allowed to get her tubes tied until she's 21. GO FIGURE.
Made a handful of munches in different areas, meeting new people is always nice. Finally getting my ass out to a play party this week. Have done some private stuff but haven't found anything special. Life has gotten better in that area as well.
Kid made tryouts for winter percussion, the last asshole director she had wouldn't let her participate at all in them. Band costs add up....425 for band, 275 for winter percussion, 550 each for the band trip. Sheeeez.
