A question for you young people...

Why are some (Christian) young people at odds with their parents and some not?

Is it the parents themselves (i.e. some parents are more exasperating than others)?
Is it the young person (i.e. in rebellion or chronically discontented)?
Is it something lacking in the relationship in general?

It seems vital that there be a strong, loving bond between the parents and the young person in order for them all to work well together. Did some parents just fail to adequately win their child's heart at some critical point? I'm talking about Christian young people raised in Christian homes, not unbelievers.

I was not raised in a Christian home by Christian parents, so I did not personally grow up in Church and in a Christian home. I don't know first hand what it's like to be a young Christian. I was already married and had children when we began living as faithful Christians.

I wonder what insights you all have on this.
