sick
So how was everyone's week/weekend so far. Mine=SUPER. (note the sarcasm please)
So Tuesday night Andrew and I went out to eat, and my eye started to bother me. That turned into pink eye. So Wednesday I called out of clinical. I was not going, with pink eye, to the hospital to x-ray people. So that was that. But my throat started to bother me.
Thursday morning i wake up with a 100.7 fever and the worst sore throat ever. I couldn't even swallow my own saliva. So I told my mom and she called the dr. Stayed home from school. Went to the dr. She said probably mono.
I had epstein barr two winters ago, and my throat was badly infected like this back then, so it's either a relapse of that or now mono. (EB=mono. different virus but same symptoms)
So the Dr. gave me 500mg of antibiotics and told me to keep taking advil. Well that did NOTHING. All Thursday/Friday night i got no sleep. I have never been in so much pain. It was terrible. I kept falling asleep for like 20 minutes, but then I'd wake up from the terrible nightmares and not being able to swallow. So I went into my Mom's room at like 5:30am, crying hysterically about how much pain I was in. I took my antibiotic again and some regular advil (I was taking PM to try and get to sleep, but it didn't even relieve the pain) and i went to sleep till like 9. My dad came home at like 1 and he was going to take me to the lab to get blood work. He took me to the hospital instead.
So i go to lovely Raritan Bay in Old bridge, and they didn't even admit me. They just gave me More meds. Tylenol with Co-dine, a steroid, and more antibiotics. They said 500 mg of the antibiotics wasn't going to do ANYTHING so they doubled my dose.
So now being on immense amounts of drugs, including eye drops for my stupid pink eye(which spread into my other eye) I'm finally feeling better. Thank the lord. I'm going to the lab today to get blood work to see what I actually have. I hope it is mono so i can get over it and never feel like this again.
