Right so lets start by not talking about how much money I just spent on an uber rare book that I've actually wanted for years! *gulp* Anyway, I'm now the proud owner of a 1st edition Max Aguilera-Hellweg's The Sacred Heart - The Body Seen Through Invasive Surgery! At least I will be when it comes through the post. Those not familiar with Max's work (which is pretty much everyone I've ever met!) will have difficulty finding it anywhere (aha I found some for you!)! I'd say look in the booklet for Delirium Cordia by Fantomas.
This is my extravagent purchase for the year I think. To be fair though his work influences every bit of work I do and I find myself needing to refer to it all the time and not being able to! Grrr, alas no more! Whee!
Anyway, so I haven't updated in ages. Erm nothing much has changed.
I finally got my compensation through from my car accident last month. 'Wasn't that fucking ages ago?' I hear you say, indeed. 18 fucking months. Alas...
I think I'm feeling better adjusted to uni now which is cool. Although I still don't have that many people to hang out with at least I have more people to talk to when they are around.
Working on 2 new projects at the moment. There's my Cultures of Nature project which seems a bit shit. I want to photograph meat due to financial constraints I don't think it's gonna happen pity. I'll probably end up doing something pretty but dull instead.
My other project is far cooler though. It's all self directed so I'm doing some cool studio work involving projecting gray's anatomy type pictures on to people and photographing it. I'm excited, although I have quite a few technical details to figure & smooth out. :)
I'm on a bit of movie season at the moment, it's cool. I'm trying to go to the cinema as much as I can and watching lots of films in my spare time. I feel like there's so much I haven't seen it's crazy, not to mention all the films I want to re-watch!
I went to Starbucks today for only the 2nd time since I've been here. No-one wanted to come, so partly inspired by
mjrmaniac, I went on my own and sat by the window and read my book. It was pretty cool, although it made me miss Luke and all you other kids who are always up for coffee.
I'm still in love with The Dresden Dolls. I'm gonna go see them in May. Anyone wishing to join me is more than welcome and if you wanna stay with me that's cool too.
Oooo Ooo Oooo, I don't know how many of you know but Skin are gonna be playing at the Eccy on the 25th, for the finale gig! Sad that there won't be any more gigs there, but much excitement to be back with my Skin boys. Yes we even managed to pull Sharpwah out of the woodwork! Huzzah!
Be there or Be Square!
Sorry, long post, but hey I don't do it often.
Anyway, I hope everybody's good! I don't seem to have seen anyone in ages (yes, I consider 2 weeks ages!) don't fear though, I keep an eye on you through your journals...
