Things I solemnly vow to learn to cook, this year if possible:
Macarons
Choux pastries
Jello marzipan (it was in a cookbook I had in grade school...)
Fried chicken
Yeast bread (Dough will NOT rise for me, ever)
Dark chocolate lava cakes (want these for my birthday)
Those awesome mini-quiche things my uncle makes
Foccacia like they had at Chesapeake Bagel Bakery (SO. GOOD. Do miss.)
Chocolate Truffles
Pizza (which depends entirely on my ability to make yeast dough....)
Thai - Tom Khai Gai, Phad Thai and Phad King, Bangkok shrimp
Chinese - stirfry that's not all liquidy, hot-n-sour soup, Hong Kong crab, Snake Alley noodles, egg rolls, learn to properly wrap dumplings
Japanese - Takoyaki, giant ramen bowl, tempura, kitsune udon, roll sushi, OKONOMIYAKIIII, brew my own plum wine YEAH
Indian food - Naan, Tandoori
Greek - Tzatziki, Gyros, Spanokopita/Tyropita, that lemon/garlic bread dip from Mykonos Cafe, Lemon Chicken soup
Any suggestions, tips, recipes or otherwise are sincerely appreciated. I will try to photo the results even! Because the kitchen here is really nice. Shiiiiny tiiiile.
