Hello friends (and strangers),
First, I would like to wish y'all a very HAPPY 2009. It's an exciting time to start anew, make some changes, and not let negativity carry over from the past! I had a great new Year's celebration with my family that I haven't seen in many years. It was a costume party with a really fun theme--Your Favorite Era. I came as a flapper, though I never lived the era. I think the '20s would probably be a difficult era to live in...maybe because of Prohibition, lol. (Just to let you know, I had a completely alcoholic free New Year's celebration!) Speaking of decades, I got to see the movie, THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON. It's a good movie, but it's very long...it's as if we are living his life through the years...except we don't get to age backwards. It's a trippy concept...though a lot of us wish we were to find that Fountain of Youth and grow younger. Imagine not being able to age with everyone else and seeing everyone go before you. I think we all shouldn't be afraid to grow old. Aging is a part of life. Don't be ashamed if you happen to see a few gray hairs, or wrinkles on your face. It's important that we treat the elderly with respect. Kids, remember that someday you'll end up in that stage of life! Age should be a gift! To turn another year older is a blessing because not everyone will get to experience a fulfilled life. Enjoy each moment. Take as much pictures as you can. Spend your time with your family and friends that mean the most to you. Time is not going to stop for us. Like the Energizer Bunny, time keeps on going and going... God only knows how long YOU will.
