seedlings still hardening off. the thai basil is in desperate need of some nitrogen, i think, judging by their colour. eek, can't wait to finally get them in the ground next weekend (i started my seeds way too early this year)!
tomatoes really need to be transplanted soon.. i think some are nitrogen & phosphorous deficient, and most likely rather root-bound at this point (though, like the basil, i fed them liquid seaweed recently to hopefully amend that). they've been growing like crazy!
not much popping up yet (that green in the middle of nowhere is spinach that overwintered.. so i left it to grow! in the back by the composter are rhubarb and daylilies. my garden is very neat and tidy this year cuz i'm trying out elements of square foot gardening. i lay down a bunch of free city wood chips between the SFG beds today (with cut-up black plastic bags as the bottom layer).
the spinach looking very happy and strong, save for a minor leafminer problem. i removed a bunch of tiny egg clusters from the undersides of the leaves today, and sprayed/fed with a neem oil solution.
