I think I have mentioned this in my jourmal before, but our song off of Bitches and Stitches, You Know, is used in this indy flick called Prey For Rock and Roll starring Gina Gershon. Due to some car-getting-towed-at-the-last-minute situation, I missed the movie while it was in the theatre, but I finally got to watch it on DVD.
The storyline can be described as: Girl punk band in LA trying to make it.
It wasn't as bad as people told me, I think the movie portraited the band better than those stupid mall-punk movies. Striving to make it happen, dealing with drugs and booze, men and girls, sleezy deals and loading out in a pick up. Our song was used in middle of the movie when Drea Di Matteo (I probably spelled her name wrong. That Sopranos chick) is coked out in her bedroom.
I must say I was stunned to hear our song coming out of that fucking DVD. It wasn't a cheesy clip like MTV Rich Girls (our song was used in one of the episodes. They played an intro part for about 6 seconds and the song is about 3 mins long. We made $200. So the calaculation goes like this. $200 ÷ 6seconds = $33.33/second $33.3 x 180seconds = $5999.40. That's how much the song is worth beeyotch!), they actually PLAYED the song this time. The end roll was awesome too. Along with the Stooges our name gets credited. Fuck yes.
So after watching that movie I am convinced that all bassists are the fuck ups of the band. When Drea Di Matteo (once again, sp?) showed up at that one gig and Gina plugged her bass in the amp for her, I got flashbacks. "Thanks mom". How many times have I told Kim that?
