I was just reading my last post, the part about getting a fax addressed to "Alyffa". It reminded me of another favorite I've gotten since then, addressed to "Ulissa". A little closer in pronunciation, but now it's more of a departure from the correct spelling.

YouuuuLyssa. I like it.

It will go well with my new walk. Yesterday when I was on the treadmill at the gym I couldn't help but noticing the man next to me; he was walking at a pretty good speed but his arms remained stiff and unmoving at his sides. It reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry dates a woman who walks like that..."it looks like she's holding heavy suitcases in her hands!" I wish I could remember who the actress was. But what a great walk! It goes along with George's theory that if you always look busy, people will never bother you - because my new walk looks best with a very serious face and when you walk quickly. Problem is, I can't do it without cracking up. And then my trainer had me doing walking lunges across the gym, and I realized how cool that walk looks. I just can't decide, so I guess I'll stick with my normal way of walking, arms swinging naturally and all.

I've been working with him for 6 months now, and my progress (to me) has been incredible. I'm feeling better, I have a lot more energy and less pain, my life is more active and well-rounded now...I don't know why I waited so long to do this. Instead of feeling exhausted after a full day of work, I still have energy to hit the gym, go grocery shopping, eat dinner, and hang out with Mark, which is what I did last night. I only wish there were more hours in the day, because I have so much energy and so much to do!

Our pre-lit Christmas tree is up, but not decorated; I wanted to put lights up on the house, but we've been so busy we haven't had time. I'm starting to wonder if it's even worth bothering with either this year, since we enjoy the tree enough as it is. It will definitely be a higher priority when we have kids, but for now I'm content with the lone, ornament-less tree. Maybe I'll throw the silver tinsel on it so I don't feel like a total scrooge.

We had a great time last weekend with one of our closest couple friends taking pictures of each other for Christmas cards. Mark and I had taken their engagement pictures for them last year, in fact we made a day of it and then enjoyed dinner and drinks afterwards, and had so much fun that I thought we should do it again. We did some outside in our neighborhood parks (BRRRR!) - there's a really cute stone bridge over a pond decorated with wreaths, and some other picturesque areas, and then inside by the undecorated tree. Maybe we can photoshop some ornaments on the finished product ;)

Time to run, meeting the girls for dinner.
