http://mspaintadventures.wikia.com/wiki/Homestuck Character Background: Nepeta Leijon is one of twelve grey-skinned, orange-horned humanoids known as trolls from the planet Alternia. She is six solar sweeps old (equivalent to a 13 year old human), her sign is Leo, and her horns are triangular like cat ears.
Nepeta started life just like all the other trolls. She hatched as a grub and went through many dangerous trials after emerging from her cocoon as a wiggler. She managed to survive, and befriended her feline-like lusus, a beastly caretaker and guardian, named Pounce de Leon. Nepeta and Pounce de Leon went about constructing a living space inside of a cave, and the young troll kept food on the table as well as strengthened her combat abilities by hunting prey around Alternia and fighting it with her clawkind strife specibus: a pair of gloves with retractable claws similar in workings to Wolverine's from the X-Men (just not attached to their body). When she isn't hunting, she enjoys roleplay...so much that she does it every chance that she gets. Nepeta can barely hold a text conversation without narrating her actions, which usually confuses and annoys most of her troll companions aside from those also interested in roleplay. It should be noted that she will only participate in 'safe roleplay'; some of her companions have engaged LARP (live action roleplay) to a point that they've given themselves permanent handicaps and injuries, and she doesn't want to be a part of that. Nepeta is also extremely interested in troll romance, especially among her friends. She draws and maintains a 'shipping wall', inside of her cave on Alternia and later on the walls inside their hideout in the Veil. Her shipping wall reveals that she has a bit of romantic interest for Karkat, but he doesn't seem to feel the same way.
At the start of Hivebent (which explores how the trolls got to be where they are presently) Nepeta is invited to play SGRUB with her friends. Terezi and Karkat encourage her to join them on the red team, but Nepeta informs them that, while she'd be excited and honored to join them, she has to ask permission from a mysterious yet intimidating individual first. She does this immediately after disconnecting from Karkat, conversing with her moirail (a troll relationship term that is similar in meaning to 'guardian') Equius and attempting to soften him up with some cutesy roleplay actions before popping the question. Equius informs her that she can play the game, but will, instead, be on his team, the blue team. Nepeta's moirail feels obligated to protect her and coax her from hanging around certain trolls because of the color of her blood, which is green, putting her in the middle of the troll hierarchy; not quite royalty but at the higher end of the lower class; "ok but not great". Readers learn that Nepeta doesn't really care what color a troll's blood is when it comes to friends. After her chat with Equius, she sadly informs Tavros, another red team player, that she can't be on the red team anymore.
Once gameplay begins, Nepeta plays on the blue team as Aradia's server player. In SGRUB, the server player controls another player's environment, able to create, build, duplicate and move objects in real life with simple pointing and clicking of the mouse. Nepeta works together fluidly with Aradia, but is confused that she can't see her friend on the screen during all of the action. Aradia finally tells her that she has unfortunately died, and exists as an invisible ghost until she merges with her frogsprite guardian. Nepeta promises to keep her death a secret from everyone else. The trolls continue to play the game, but soon realize that they are not treated as two separate teams, but as twelve linked players in one session. Nepeta does her fair share of imp and monster killing, and eventually the trolls defeat the game's final boss, the Black King. Unfortunately, before they can complete the game and exit to safety in the new universe they've created, an event called the Scratch activates, allowing a dangerous entity resembling a winged wolf humanoid called Jack Noir to attack them. The trolls manage to escape his attack with help from Aradia and flee to the Veil, which Derse orbits near. Nepeta's dream self (her alter ego that operates on Derse, the Dark Kingdom in SGRUB's game universe) is later stabbed and killed by Jack Noir.
When the kids begin their SBURB (their version of SGRUB) session, the trolls 'troll' the humans. While an annoyance, the trolls point out mistakes and make suggestions for them so they won't make any moves they might regret. Nepeta is intrigued and very interested in the humans, even telling Terezi that Jade is her favorite of the four. She gets upset that her attempts at making friends with the kids are confused with the trolling her friends do to them, however. She also admits to Rose that she enjoys talking to Jaspersprite, because he reminds her of her lusus.
Nepeta soon meets a grizzly end, sadly. During the scene known as 'Seek the highb100d', one of the trolls named Gamzee goes insane and starts to slaughter other trolls in the Veil. Equius orders Nepeta to hide while he goes to confront the killer. Nepeta reluctantly enters, then crawls through the grates. As she inches through the ventilation system, she sees the killer's handiwork, and eventually watches as Gamzee uses a bow and arrow to choke and suffocate him. Filled with sadness and anger, she bursts through the grate and attempts to attack Gamzee. Though skilled at fighting, she is not strong enough to harm him, and he beats her to death after using her claws to scratch his own face.
Abilities/Special Powers:
- Nepeta is a skilled combatant, and her strife specibi is clawkind. Her fighting style is much like that of a cat, pouncing her prey and slashing with her retractable claws.
Third-Person Sample: It should have been no surprise that Nepeta's room inside the mansion extended as far and wide as her own imagination. Nepeta sat on her backside in the middle of the mostly empty room, knees bent with feet flat against the floor and her arms hanging in front of her, much like a cat would sit. She brought her hand up to her chin and rubbed it thoughtfully, staring at the grand, grey canvas before her. Wonderland had been surprisingly good to her, but also surprising! There were lots of humans here, and a good number of her friends as well. And that meant lots of relationships. She was determined to keep track of them all.
"...O-kay! Time to get to work!" Nepeta jumped to her feet in excitement, and bounced towards the closet with glee. "AC skips merrily across the room towards the closet! She bows respectfurry and folds her hands together, pondering and prepurring her request! She hopes the closet will understand what it is she would like this time!" She narrated, cat-like smile beaming. She had asked the closet earlier for a laptop with a drawing tablet, but instead of giving her a means of creating digital art and chatting with friends, got a TV dinner table tray and a pad of blank paper.
"Magical magic supurr special closet, please grant my simple wish! I wish fur...a paint set please! An Alternian paint set...no no, wait! Something like an Alternian paint set, but made of something less pawful than wiggler blood, please. It's really easy, I promise! See, it's a tray, and there are little cups in it filled with paint of lots of different colors. And sometimes it comes with a paintbrush that fits inside the tray next to the paints. I hope that's not too hard! Oh! Pretty pretty please!" She ran her hand against the door, as if petting it. After a few moments, she twisted the door knob, and low and behold, there sat a safe, non-toxic set of acrylic paints in a rainbow of colors behind the door. Nepeta's eyes sparkled with glee as she pulled the paint set from the floor and hugged the plastic case to her chest. It even included a small, green-handled paintbrush. "Ooohhhh! Thank you-thank you-thank you magical supurr special closet! Now to start working on my new shipping wall!"
