PIGGIES AT THE PARLOR
Sadie already looks at me, so fascinated, when I put on
my make up. I would study my Mum the same way in the
bathroom every morning as a child, watch the way she'd
fancy up her face and do her hair. What's funny is how
different boys & girls are from the get go, as Ashie's
swiped a few of my chapsticks here & there, but has
never shown any interest in my make-up. Same
as how Sadie pays absolutely zero attention
to things like cars... while Ashton seemed
to love them from the womb.
For fun today, I painted Sadie's toes up. I actually
used a Juicy Tube lipgloss & applied it with a brush,
A) because I was able to remove it after wards with
just a warm cloth & B) nailpolish seems far too harsh
a chemical to expose a baby's nails to.
It made for a sweet little photo shoot & Sadie sat
there smiling & cooing & holding her little tootsies
perfectly still & splayed for me to prettify the whole
time. A natural born model, posed all graceful like
& loving the treatment. Again, this seems par for
the course with a girl. She even sits there & lets
me clip her nails whereas Ash is gonna be 5
soon & I still have to sneak in & snip his
at night when he's asleep.
Hee hee. I'm sure I'll catch a little 6 or 7 year old
Sadie sneaking through my make up in a few years
time... or find her wearing one of my dresses with
my lipstick applied like a clown, & those moments
will be photographed too... but I'm glad my Poo
Poo Doll enjoyed this today, as there shall be no
more wearing of the goopy stuff for her 'til she's
at least 16, or if Daddy has it his way - her 65th
birthday. ;)
