christmas is not my favorite time of the year, but there are a few things about it that have me in a really good mood. the number one thing happened today.

so, there is this little boy that goes to church with my parents. he is a little red-headed boy who i always noticed when i went to church with my parents, and he is real sweet and well-behaved. the thing is he comes from a broken home, his dad can't do much for him, and his mom is pretty much a lost cause who is on drugs really bad. i think he lives with his grandmother, who is really mean to him. she smacks him and yells at him during church, and that always got to me because he really is well behaved. she is real strict, but it sucks because she isnt real good to him in the mean time. well, a few weeks ago this little boy broke his arm on a wedensday, and his grandmother didnt take him to the doctor until fucking SATURDAY! he got a cast, but for some reason, his family just cant find the time to take him to the doctor, even when my dad offered to take him whenever they needed it. just thinking about how much his little arm hurt him upsets me so so much. it upset my parents a whole lot, too.

so, instead of getting a whole lot of shit that i don't even need, my parents got me and my family a few things we asked for, and then went out and got this kid some new clothes, a few toys, and a BIKE!!! he is about eight, i think, and he doesnt even have decent clothes to wear that fit him. my parents took all the stuff out there to him today, and when he opened up the clothes, his dad was really thankful because he couldnt do that for him. THEN, after the kid thought everything was over, my dad told him there was one more thing outside in the truck. when he ran out and saw the new bike, he said "JUST WHAT I WANTED!!!" he rode the bike all over the place, and was grinning like a mule eating briars. it was the best thing ever.

i am really glad that my parents did that for him. i know that christmas is ridic because people buy shit they probably shouldnt, but this is a case where i am really glad that this kid got a bunch of presents. i dont know that he would ever have gotten anything like that if it wasnt for christmas time, so i think it was all worth it. it really makes me think about how much my parents have done for me, especially in times like now when they dont necessarily have the means. i am really grateful that they have taken care of me, and given me everything i have. i have some good parents.

so, tis the season, y'all. i hope everyone has a good christmas, and i hope a christmas miracle happens for you LD.
