A + STUDENT!
so much has happened to me today that i don't even know where to start.
first of all, i have got so many new jams in my cd player that i feel like a new woman. there had been a serious lack of good music in my life as of late. thanks to friends with good taste, i got some new cds. they aren't anything super new or unheard of (Panda Bear, Animal Collective, Feist, Justice, Okkervil River, Grizzly Bear, Band of Horses, blah blah, blah), but they are new to me. so this morning i got down to some okkervil river, and that got me started off on the right foot.
then i got to school and i found out I HAVE BEEN NOMINATED FOR THE PECK SCHOLARSHIP!!! You don't know what this means to me. If I get the award, I will get to have my name on a plaque with the rest of the smarties in the English department at MTSU. I can't tell you how often I have looked at that thing and wondered what I had to do to get my name up there, and now I have my chance. Dr. Mapp, my favorite teacher at MTSU and the smartest man I think I have ever met, nominated me for it. It means even more somehow that he (and two other teachers) nominated me. I have to write a paragraph about my vocational ambitions... and I am kind of concerned with that. Give me suggestions to make myself look deserving! I want this so bad. Please pray or meditate or do whatever you do and think about me while you do it. This would mean so much to me, but honestly, I feel fucking awesome with just the nomination.
ANDDDDD I got invited to join Phi Kappa Phi. It is an invite only honors membership, and you have to be in the top 10% of your college to get in. So please BELIEVE I joined that shit.
then I came home to watch dancing with the stars!
