Today is a beautiful day.
Auston and I woke up and went to Jack in the Box. The guy at the counter gave Auston extra curly fries. We got our food and sat down. As we began eating, we realized that the entire place was filling with smoke. Auston said "Let's take our food outside." So we sat on the curb with our trays eating our tacos and Sourdough Jacks, enjoying the sunshine and beautiful weather. Everyone was running around coughing and looking up at the building as if they were expecting the place to explode into flames. A policeman arrived and asked us to move away from the building and we said "Okay" and moved to a ledge on the other side of the parking lot to finish our lunch. Auston was a little bit disappointed that he couldn't get a refill on his Dr. Pepper, but he didn't let it spoil his lunch, he just had a sip of my Diet Coke. We continued eating as three fire trucks, an ambulance, a fire rescue suv, and two police cars arrived on what was quickly becoming a scene. They all trooped into the building and walked around and set up big fans to blow out the smoke. How exciting! When we'd eaten our fill, we threw our trash in the dumpster and returned our trays to the employees waiting outside. I drove Auston back to his room so that he could study.
