True Blood.Better this week. And you bet I laughed my ass off at the Area 5 vampires going all Underworld there at the end. I truly hope Kate Beckininsale is a surprise guest star next week. Sarah Michelle can pop in on the other side and we'll call it even.

Last week, plotwise, was necessary I guess to get us here. (Still doesn't mean it had to be done so badly.) Tommy died which makes perfect sense on many levels. One of those levels is that the only purpose he was serving (other than reminding us how much on-again-off-again Sam can suck) was to let Sam Trammel kick ass at impersonating him. Another level is the same one on which only his behavior made any sense last week. He grew up learning you get your ass beat for people you love. So he did. Then he died. (Also, since it's Alcide's thing to throw himself into any fight that will alienate all other Werewolves(/people), he's now holding people so Sam can hit them.) On the theme front: Tommy wanted to go to the bar that's home and when he got there people tried to describe this beautiful place he was going because they didn't know he was already there. Except Sam told him he loved him, so maybe they did.

Something that I didn't pay attention to before is how Andy is also Tommy and Terry is Sam (Good Sam, that is. Better than Good Sam. Unless Arlene's around. Then he's, um, Lame Sam.) On the theme front: Terry and Andy went to Ft. Bellefleur for an intervention because it's the place you go when the world reminds you it's not solid all the way through. Then Andy said he would be better (which is always the next thing an addict says) so Terry lied right back and said he was headed home. They were already there.

Eric and Marnie, as always, flip flopped in the memory/personality/soul department. He comes together while she's splitting. Ultimately though, he's more broken than ever before and she's integrated, her vibes are all weird and freaking Jesus out. (I'll state the obvious and declare him the winner in this situation. They should both be pretty fucked up right now so the fact that Marnie thinks she's better just means she's about to go down.)

Jess continues to get shafted. The part where Jason asks her to glamor him was the thing I was really not looking forward to. And it was bad. At least she was fully capable of realizing how revolting the request was. That made it a little better.

With the whole 'home' theme thing Jess and Eric are a little more ambiguous since nobody said 'home' like twelve million times in their scenes. Clearly, Jess has been struggling with 'home' since this season started. Eric too. He was lost, then sookie found him, then the spell was broken which, despite what he told Sookie, felt a whole lot like being lost again (Proof: it's not that he forgot to call Pam, he just didn't even think about it). So for them ... flame throwers.

I guess I should include Bill. Except I really have no idea WTF is up with Bill. As far as I can tell he's in a fight with Nan Flanagan for being Nan Flanagan. And Sookie. But I think she's okay on the home front as long as she has at least three boyfriends (plus her brother to make eyes at/insult), a pie, and that creepy picture of Gran.
