Bravo! Very well done. Dark, but so damn good.

When John thought back on that moment he thought maybe right then he'd been hearing his mother bleed to death, hemorrhaging into her lungs as she watched his father die all over again.

That's beautifully done.

And I love the theme here. That even if they win, they can't really win because they're all people out of time and even if they save the world, it's not really a world in which they can exist.

Lovely piece. Thanks for posting.

Thanks very much! That line was a late addition, the original story was too emotionless without it.

I'm quite fascinated by the idea that all of them are fighting to create a world that will have no place for them. I just keep returning to that theme...
Thanks for reading!

I agree with indie- very well done and on a theme very true to the series. You handle it nicely in this piece to show the brittleness of Sarah's existence.

Thanks very much. With recent episodes I'm seeing the possibility of Sarah making it to J-Day alive but out of her mind. The prospect is dismal.

I've been wondering the same but I'm not too fond of that outcome.

I have to agree with indie... that line was a wonderful addition. That emotional tidbit being in the middle of all the cold really highlights it vividly. This is really poignant when you think of all the real soldiers that don't know how to re-integrate themselves once there's nothing left to fight. I applaud you even as you axe my favorite character.

PS: Considering how dark and depressing the rest of this is, I likely shouldn't have laughed so hard, but the mention of John now making video games left me inordinately amused. XD

It is funny though right? He spent his whole life tring to prevent a war and now that he has he'll just enter the work force like everyone else.

Thanks for reading!
