I luv mail!
After work today I had an appointment scheduled with the hairdresser. I was silly enough to leave work while having to pee, be on the train while having to pee, wait at the salon while having to pee, get my hair cut while having to pee, went to Subway while having to pee and get on the bus while having to pee. Why did I do this, you ask? Sometimes I just put too much trust in my body, I guess. But I made it home alright, so all's good.
At home the most lovely mail was waiting for me. A brand new Harlequin shipment (3 Passion series, yay!) AND a free book voucher, worth 10 euros!! Courtesy of the National Railways, but I'm thinking actually courtesy of sister M., who works for the National Railways! So I texted her to say thanks immediately. Lovely surprise! Plus I'll get a 15 euro book voucher for my birthday at work (sometimes it's not so much fun to see where all the money goes), so that's 25 euros going towards books. Wheee!
After that I finished up this thing I had to make for my grandma's birthday, and I went 'artificially dumb' (blonde) again. All in all, I'd say this was a very productive night!
Weekend and birthday plans?
Tomorrow Sas, Fook and sis N. are coming over for dinner, and Jo and A. are coming over for drinks. N. is going home after dinner, the rest of us are going out ( Sas & Fook are sleeping over).
Saturday I'll have to shop for Sunday, but not much else. Slightly boring. I was hoping that sis L. would come over, but a residency spot at Obstetrics has opened up at Leiden Academic, and she needs to work on her application. Which I get, I guess. But it's still sorta sucky she won't be on any of my birthday days. That's the first time in 24 years, after all.
Sunday, my birthday, is going to suck for a major part, because I didn't invite the family until the late afternoon. Stupid!
Other than that, I obviously need more friends. It doesn't help that two of my closest ones are abroad at the moment.
