Another crazy day at work was followed by a drive home. I realized that one thing I missed during all those years of working at home was the drive through the Iowa countryside, especially at dawn and dusk. Today, we were having one of those "wind goes roaring down the plains" days, and there were amazing clouds and shafts of light changing the landscape from minute to minute. At times, the stubble in the fields was a gorgeous gold and even one of the corn sweetener plants took on an interesting cast for a few seconds, before retreating into its usual role of blight on the landscape.
