In recovery - and a new fic
For days, I jumped every time I heard "President-Elect Obama," unable to internalize the reality. But then I saw an ad for commemorative colorized (really!) Obama Inaugural coins with "Certificates of Authenticity" from some "Mint" that has nothing to do with the federal government. If that kind of cheap collectible crap is out there, it really happened. Tonight, I sat down after work and didn't immediately think that I needed to start making phone calls. And I've stopped refreshing TPM every 10 minutes.
I got back to writing but instead of finishing a fic, I had to rush to write one for my seasonal_spuffy day. Some time ago, I wrote a short fic called Who's the Doctor?. It was an AU version of "As You Were" that involved some characters from the recent seasons of Doctor Who. I'm having problems categorizing the current fic, because it's a prequel from the Doctor's point of view and a sequel from Buffy and Spike's. As far as BTVS is concerned, it's during or after an AU Season 6 where Spuffy is a happy reality and all the characters get along, more or less. In the Whoverse, it takes place during Tom Baker's reign, when he was traveling with Leela. I don't think you need more knowledge of Classic Who than I put in the summary to understand the story. And I think I finally sorted out all the links. Anyway, it's here:
