Bridal outfit finished and delivered.

Today has been a "recovery" day. I always need a day or two after finishing a project, I think it's something to do with running on adrenalin while you're working and then the "let down" when it's finally finished. Anyway, I had planned to do the housework, but hey, the weather changed to cool today and I felt sniffly again. I've caught up on my emails, and reading blogs and websites that I had to miss over the last few days. The bride had her final fitting on Saturday, and thank goodness it looked fabulous and she was very happy. The lacey overblouse took many, many hours of hand stitching to bind the seams with the fine tulle, and then I appliqued the scalloped lace around the neckline, down the front and around the hem and the sleeves. I cut away the bodice behind the edging slightly to reduce the bulk, and we put a small silk ribbon tie on the wrapover front section. The lining of the bodice of the cocktail length silk dress was boned on the sideseams and side back seams, and I made a simple one layer tulle petticoat with a 10 inch wide slightly gathered frill from thigh to hem. I turned a 1.5 cm hem on the tulle to avoid scratching and give it a little body. An anti-static lining fabric petticoat avoided a "Diana moment". I'm hoping to have photos to post after the wedding in a fortnight's time. Now to start work on the list of UFO's put aside while I've been unwell.
