Done!!!!
Wow I'm done with work and it's finally starting to sink in. Today I've done almost nothing, which was my goal for the hours of 7am-3pm. After three I can start being productive. I watched All My Children and played with Lola and slept in until 10:30 (I'm still not quite on my summer schedule yet, give me time) and dicked around on the internet and hung a hummingbird feeder and ate cereal and took a shower and that's the sum total of my day thus far. Yay!
I think maybe I'm having a hard time adjusting because for the past 6 years I had an end-of-school ritual: driving up the 5 (or 101, back when I still drove the crazy 70s car). I was either moving all my stuff and having crazy stressful family time or belting Ani and loading up my car by myself, and then having nice alone time to reflect on the year. By the time I pulled up in front of the house, I felt ready to come home and start summer and CAMP! and all it entails.
But this year -- no cleansing ritual. I'll have to start a new one -- maybe I should take a drive one day this week, maybe just go to Marin and hike the headlands by myself. I think I need to do something. Right now I feel like I'm in some kind of limbo, though the not going to work today thing really helped with the adjustment.
In other news, Lola is all confused about my being home. She was crazy hyper all morning, but now she is sleeping in my bed with her head on my pillow. So cute!
Tomorrow my mom is taking me out for lunch, massages and facials. Oh my God I'm so spoiled.
