cops in the middle of the night

my son got brought home by the 5-0 at midnight, like cinderella...granted my son did have liquer on his breath...i got that, agree he needed to be dealt with.

but does the cop have to take this moment to be a freaking 5 year old with power and a gun? he was calling my kid the "F" word and insulting him to me...and kept having to get the last word in so much so that he made some rude statement then got into his car and drove away...my son is, as known in previous posts, no angel...but he is no devil either...he truly is a really sweet kid!!! ask anyone who knows him! he is polite, kind, big hearted...but when an adult assumes he can talk to him any way he wants because the adult is the adult and then becomes angry because my son now feels he can respond in kind it begs the question "is there any mental health training given to cops?" as a person of power and one dealing with the public, they shouldn't allow themselves to get in verbal disagreements with kids...they need to have barriers. i work with kids all day, i may get upset with these kids but i don't call them names or let them now they have pushed my button...to do so would be to hand all my power over and escalate the situation...

now before you think i always just cover iggy's ass. after that cop left i called the police and had them come back to breathalize him...because cop #1 was saying he was wildly drunk and belligerant and had absolutely no respect for authority...

cop #2 came out, a cop iggy knows as well, who treats kids no matter who they are with respect and uses his authority with compassion. iggy responded the way he does when he knows that he has done wrong and is being called on it respectfully. he was totally humble and saying yes sir and admitting his error and very cooperative.

iggy had told me he'd had only a sip, which of 151 proof seemed about right as he blew a .03...he wasn't slurring or staggering...or wildly drunk...just made a really stupid choice!!!

whatever...i hate this place sometimes
