I am the world's number one princess!

Our local anime convention, Otafest, is going to be in a little over a month, now. I've barely begun preparations for the things I want to do, what is wrong with me?!

My Rena costume should be here very soon. Yes, Rena from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Unfortunately, the weapons policy in place this year forbids me from carrying around that magnificent cleaver. Lame sauce.

I'm gunning to do a skit in the cosplay competition again, but thus far, I only have a few vague ideas in mind. If you have any ideas for a comedic solo monologue, feel free to throw 'em at me. This year, I want to win Best Performance, not just runner up!

Ideally, I should try and find a way to re-watch Higurashi. I want to work in some of the show's mythos into the skit, how Hinamizawa appears serene and easy-going, brightly coloured and full of cutesy, charming villagers, but, but...! However, I fear I don't remember enough concrete details.

Naturally, I also must enter the singing competition every year, Otafest Idol. I very much wanted to sing this song, but alas, I have no karaoke track. So, keeping with the Vocaloid theme, I will instead sing World is Mine! What have I gotten myself in to?

It might be slightly ridiculous. I can't do the high-pitched "aah!" squeal, so I'll have to, erm, not-squeal it. I wish more songs were in a comfortable range for me - not all girls are sopranos, got that?

I'm debating whether or not I need a wig for my costume, or whether I can coast on my natural hair. It looked a lot like Rena's two hair cuts ago, minus the colour, so I might just do that again.

I beat up the Elite 4 but good the other day. I believe my levels varied between 47 (Horatio the Magnezone) and 51 (Terra the Feraligator), with the rest of 'em at 48-50.

Nobody fainted, save for poor Johannes the Dusknoir, when Karen's Gengar decided to use Destiny Bond. How rude. And her Umbreon took forever to kill, thanks to its high defences and us lacking any Bug or Fighting moves to punch it in the face with. Well. Pommy has Rock Smash, but. Rock Smash. It just didn't seem worth it.

Plus, it also kept using Double Team, and not wanting to face the frustration of constant misses, I sent out Horatio with his no-miss Magnet Bomb. His no-miss, not-very-effective, physical-attack Magnet Bomb, when his attack stat is already abysmal.

I had a moment during that fight. I used Horatio to cripple the Umbreon with Thunder Wave, thinking to myself "Heh heh, poor sap, too bad you don't have Synchroni-- SONUVA." I completely forgot it had that ability.

But Karen didn't cure it, and surprisingly, the paralysis proved worthwhile as Umbreon was fully paralyzed so often I was only dinged with a couple of wimpy Dark Pulses. And Confuse Ray. Rrrgh. That is annoying, when it's used against you.

Hoo hah! Oh, Bruno. Shine on, you crazy diamond.

It's nice to beat a Champion that bows down graciously. Or at least, if Lance rudely told me off for taking away his crown, he did it out of ear-shot at a respectable distance. That's how you do it, Gary.

Something was bothering me as I watched my team be inaugurated into the Hall of Fame. Then, it clicked. Pommy! Throughout the Elite Four, I had never used my poor little Furret even once. I'm sorry, Pom Pom. But you cheered us on but good, right? Right.

We've now beaten Lt. Surge, Sabrina and Erika. I already feel like we're falling behind in levels, but there aren't any great places to train. Just one level feels like it takes forever if I head back to Victory Road. And wild Kanto Pokemon levels are consistent with Red/Blue, and I'd rather not spend three hours kicking Bellsprout.

I startled myself when I Smashed a Rock in Vermillion City, and a Diglett popped out. Not so much the Pokemon, but the music! I had completely forgotten that the battle music changes from Johto to Kanto, and jumped when the new ditty begun playing. I thought it was a legendary Pokemon! OH GOD. I'M SORRY, ENTEI, I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE LIVING UNDER THAT ROCK, I'LL GLUE IT BACK TOGETHER.

Boy, do I feel goofy.

Where the heck is Misty? She wasn't at the cove. Guess it's off to the Power Plant. Ughhh. But mummy, I don't want to go through the Rock Tunnel. Time to rescue Dr. Doof from the PC and have him start up the FLASHINATOR again.

Oh, I went to the Pokeathlon dome and finished beating all the records. All I had left to do was the Snow Throw, but I've been putting it off because I don't much care for the Skill Competition. I'm not quite certain how a Magnezone can throw snowballs, but Horatio, Johannes and Lucy the Jynx wiped the floor with everyone. We broke all my previous records in the Skill Competition, hurrah!

It stands to reason that, if a Magnezone can make and throw snowballs, a Dusknoir can also kick a soccer ball. Why not. Maybe a Diglett can also win at Hurdles.

My dad and I watched Moon last night. It was... It was good, don't get me wrong. I'd have no problem recommending it if you like your sci-fi ponderous and mind-bendy, but I personally don't feel I could watch it again.

I think it traumatized me. Auuugh. It pushed all of my buttons. I have to go huddle in a corner with my stuffed bunny rabbit, now.

Perhaps give me some time, and I will manage to repress what freaked me out. I remember being previously frightened by lots of movies, but darn if I can remember what bothered me. I know The Brave Little Toaster is on my list, but I barely remember what it's about. Or The Rescuers Down Under. Why did it scare me? It is a mystery. Shush, you, I know it's Disney, don't laugh! Most movies on my personal Nightmare Fuel list are animated, because it's 90% of what I watch. Deal.
