snow + TTC = OTP

A good sign the Toronto transit is ghetto: the bus driver made an announcement as we were leaving the subway station that, because of the snow, he was asking us all to get up and move to the back of the bus to stand on, behind, or as close as humanly possible to the back tires or we weren't making it up the hill. It is a rather steep hill, but it's the first time I'd heard it put so black-and-white before.

So I moved back. So did about 5 other people. The others, one of whom had been sitting next to me at the time, just looked around with confused looks I'd liken to a deer looking into the headlights of an oncoming vehicle - in other words, "duuhhh? *headtilt*".

The bus driver continued on, "those of you who didn't move, if we get stuck, I will say 'I told you so'."

I love that man, I think.

What my fear is is this: there's an even steeper hill up ahead. And we're currently skidding wildly and we're on a flat surface. Also, the hill up ahead? There's a bus stop halfway up.

eta yep. We're stuck.

eta 2 so I moved back.Apparently I'm the olnly one who got that idea. But my weight, though considerable, isn't enough to make a difference on its own. 3 minutes later someone else joined me. And then another. We made it! The driver sounded emotional as he thanked us for moving back. I wish I could make this shit up. So now I'm on the last leg of my trek home: walking! Up a hill! But I won't need anyone to move back or to push me. I can handle more snow than the TTC apparently. But now I can't see my screen because of the melting snow water and my thumbs are frozen. So until next time!
