Reporting in on the job situation...

I have a casual job at coles doing nightfill, which whilst it means working 9pm -1am is actually quite enjoyable and pays quite well. It is also good enough hours that I hopefully will be able to keep it when I get a full time job and have the coles money going straight into saving for America at the end of the year.

I had two job interviews today and I have another tomorrow. The one this morning went amazingly well. It was three different ladies interviewing me, which seemed daunting at first but all three were really nice and so quite quickly it stopped being scary and was comfortable. They seemed to all like the answers I gave and were quite adament on the fact that they don't mind training the right person up for the job. So that made me feel quite good. At the end of the interview the Practice Manager (who'd be my direct boss) showed me around and introduced me to everyone and then proceeded to say how she is quite fussy when it comes to staff and really big on first impressions and she said I'd made a good impression and she really liked me (HOORAY!!!!) The money is not bad, not as good as the job i'm interviewing for tomorrow but I really liked the place and could actually see myself working there and being quite happy, especially given the variety of different clients I'd be dealing with. The decision will be made tomorrow, and so I should knkow sometime tomorrow.

The second interview whilst it went well and I think I've got a reasonable chance of getting the position, I no longer want it. The hours wouldn't really allow me to stay at coles, and the money is several grand a year less than the morning's interview and I honestly think the job would be boring and make me angry. Whilst I was willing to consider puting up with crap blokes coming in all the time, I'm not willing to do it for that kind of money and having to work on Saturdays as well. (I don't mind the idea of working saturdays but not for shit wages)

Tomorrow's interview could go either way from my point of view. The ad didn't give a lot of information and it's for a company that works 24/7 so the hours could be shit. Plus I'm not quite sure how much the role is sales versus customer service. So it'll be interesting. I guess I'll wait and see. It's five grand more a year than this morning's interview, but that said I'm not sure how much the job would actually suit me. I guess I'll know more tomorrow.

Better go find some dinner. I've got work tonight.
