Little Five Points Halloween Parade + Gothic & Lolita Bible Volume 3

Today was a really nice day!
mastergode, bejipan and I all woke up rather late today. It was just one of those kinds of lazy weekend days where you don't want to get up but you figure you should. Even though we got a late start, we decided to head down to the Little Five Points Halloween Parade. For the uninitiated, Little Five Points is kind of the central gathering point for weird people and weird things in Atlanta, and so you can imagine they'd have an interesting parade. Every year I want to go, but there's always some reason I can't make it there. It took forever to find a parking spot because we were so late, but I'm glad we didn't give up because the parade was a good deal of fun.

Here's a few pictures from the parade!

It's really hard to tell from these pictures, but this float was full of awesomeness and hilarity. They were all dressed up as characters from The Muppet Show. They had the two old heckler guys, an Evil Knievel Gonzo riding a motorcycle, Animal and the band and everything.

Here's another view. You can see The Count sitting next to Miss Piggy.... yes that dude with the beer in his tighty-whities is suppose to be Miss Piggy! The were really very funny to watch.

This is for all of the Star Wars geeks. Of course, the storm troopers had to all come out and represent. It was kind of funny to see them all walking down the street outside of Dragon*Con though. XD

We poked around in the shops a bit, but then we decided it was time for food. While making our way through the throng of crazy awesome people we ran into ozgolith and ninsun which was a pleasant surprise. We also briefly saw littlesebastien and broddhisatva Originally, we were supposed to meet up with normal and emiko, but they were running late and we missed them. At least if we were going to miss the cool kids we were supposed to meet up with, we got to see some equally cool kids!

After the parade, we went up to a Border's in Kennesaw to meet up with bunnyko and to see hagus25 perform. I really like going to see his performances since they're in the coffee shop section of the bookstore. It's really nice to just go and sit and look at magazines while listening to hagus25 play his keyboard. He's really ridiculously talented. If you took Billy Joel and Ben Folds and put them together, that's what hagus25 sounds like. I'm a big fan of both of those artists, and so of course I'm keen to go listen to something live that approximates them.

So, while we were there, I went to go see if they had any copies of the volume 3 of the Gothic & Lolita Bible since I still owe emiko and photogirl630 a copy for working on my ad. They did have two copies, but they were more monies than I wanted to pay, so I figured I'd go home and order them on Amazon. However, I thought since I was dressed in casual lolita attire, I should take a picture. I mean, after all, it's not everyday you or your brand is in a magazine you can pick up at a national chain bookstore!

Here's a couple of pictures of me with the magazine! ^__^
