SoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOooo~
This weekend, you know what I did? I went out with my Mom, and I bought a wedding dress! I know I've been saying I was going to commission a corset and make the rest of the dress, but I tried this one on and fell in love. I had originally made my appointment at Pricilla of Boston just to go see which silhouettes I liked and to get inspiration, but I left with the dress of my dreams... or the one of my reasonably affordable dreams. XD

I wasn't expecting too much since the only dresses I've liked before came with a $10,000.00+ price-tag, but they had so many gorgeous dresses! It was such a pleasant surprise to see so much I loved. All of the other boutiques I've been to had such plain run-of-the-mill frocks. If any of you are in the wedding dress shopping business, I can't recommend Pricilla's enough! Particularly for those of you, who like myself, like romantic and vaguely vintage details, the Malissa Sweet collection is full of lovely things! My dress is from that collection.

I forgot to take my camera with me, and I really wasn't planning on buying a dress at all when I went, so I don't have any pictures. However, I thought that this momentous decision and gorgeous dress needed an entry in my journal even if I can't show it off yet.

If you're really interested and have a Pricilla's near you, the style is called "Dora", and I got it in ivory. It's made of dotted silk organza... I have to say that all of the dresses I tried on had amazing fabric. There was one dress that I didn't like at all, but I almost wanted to try it on anyway because the fabric felt so lux!

Here's a link to the dress. The pictures on the web don't do it justice in any way. It really looks like a totally different dress. You would think such a large and famous dress company would take better pictures.... or get better models. ^^;;

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I had to purchase an extra yard of fabric so that I can get cap sleeves made for the gown since I didn't want it to be strapless. One yard of 36" wide fabric cost $240.00.... I think I may be making some matching fabric flowers for my bridesmaids or something so as not to let the leftovers go to waste!
