Your Odd Question Of The Day:

Jul 06, 2009 10:37

Do I need to describe my characters more, as in mentioning what color hair/eyes they have, height, general weight (skinny, chubby, underfed, blobby), etc? Does it matter?

I ask because I realized that I have NO IDEA as to what Cadith really looks like. I can give you all kinds of adjectives relating to what kind of person he is, but if someone offered to draw him for me I couldn't tell them "oh, he's [X], [Y], and [Z] in the looks department". The only reason we know anything about Aaron's appearance is because Cadith happens to notice what he looks like. (And really, 'nice shoulders' is seriously open to interpretation, since not everyone agrees that nice=broad as can be.)

In addition to that, I spent more time describing the appearance of dead people in the two most recent chunks of C/A that I wrote than I have on either Cadith or Aaron in ANY of it, and that just kind of seems wrong, somehow.

And on top of that, there's Finch and Herbert. About all I can tell you is that they have hair and eyes, and I'm pretty sure Finch is about 25 pounds lighter than Herbert. THAT'S IT. No clue as to what either of them look like outside of that.

herbert, what do you have to say?, opinions opinions, who are these people again?, blithering about characters, finch, aaron, cadith
