It's very very odd, but for some reason The Black Parade is not... I don't hate it, it's very important to know that, first of all. It's just... Too black? Except for The Sharpest Lives, Teenagers, and Blood, I really can't listen to the rest of the album. It's nothing to do with the way MCR sounds and everything to do with me and the way I react to words arranged in a particular order.
This makes no sense, because I listened to Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge (and Desolation Row) straight through last night before I went to bed, and the only thing I skipped was Interlude (because it was slow and I wanted to hear fast stuff). Three Cheers, even though the songs are just as awful-good as TBP, didn't make me feel the same way. I don't know why that is, if it's because it's somehow less sad than most of the stuff on TBP, or if it's something else entirely.
And I can still appreciate music that makes me feel as miserable as subject of the song, but these days I listen to it a lot less. And I'm keeping all of TBP, I just won't listen to the whole thing all at once very often, that's all.
Besides, who knows? Maybe the next album will be more my speed.
Also, Note To Self: I'm Not Okay (I Promise) = FINCH SONG. Because if there was ever a song that had a chunk that fit him like his own skin, it's that one.
