Tour
We apply for student nurse positions in the emergency room and then following the interviews we take a tour of the department. There we see examining rooms of various purpose, equipment, paperwork, more examining rooms etc. Nurses and other medical personell walk by doing whatever it is they do and we come upon the recussitation room. In the room a lot of people crowd around a table with a large naked man on it. Someone is doing CPR on him and everyone seems calm. They are talking in untroubled voices, just standing there watching. "This seems nothing like ER," I think to myself not really expecting it to anyway. I am a little uncomfortable witnessing this. A man with glasses, a beard and street clothes on looks at us and says, "are you from high school?" He must be the doc. Cocky bastard. "Uh, yea we look like it right?" I reply, perterbed. "No, we are nursing students," he says to the man. The man replies to us, "well.... you just watched a man die."
