Okay, so I'm going to do a few fangirl rants here for a little while, and then I'm going to dive into real life...so. It's gonna be a wild wild. Get ready.
So, first. Tokio Hotel. I'm sick of their lives being so criticized. Bill's gay because he doesn't date and he dresses different. Gustav's careless because he runs his car into a tram. Tom...*sigh*
I just read an article about Tom on Sodahead posted by what claimed to be the official Tokio Hotel account there. It really worried me. The article said that he punched a female fan after she knocked on the window to the car he was in. The article said that first, she got a cigerette thrown at her, and then when she didn't leave, Tom got out of the car and punched her, making her fall into the car. I don't know what to think. I'm just really hoping it's not true. But apparently he was caught on something called CCTV hitting her at a petrol station.
This worries me. A lot. Because it makes me wonder how appreciative the band really is to fans. Fans are slightly idealistic, we like to think our favorite band wrote the songs, we like to think the songs they sing are about their experiences, and above all, we like to believe the best about them. This doesn't really help me believe the best about Tom. They've been in this industry since they were fifteen - younger, maybe. Like Britney Spears? Maybe they've gotten selfish and careless and caught up in their own image just like her. I would never want to see them fall like she did.
If something like that happens to them, I'm going to be the Britney Spears guy on youtube after everyone starts hating them. Yikes. Hope you boys know what you're doing - especially, you, Tom.

Next topic: Harry Potter. I am obsessed with too, but I've cooled down some in the THREE FUCKING YEARS OF WAITING!!! But, finally, this summer (July 17, if I'm not mistaken, and I'm not) it's coming out. The last, and longest trailer just came out. Oh my God. It is. Amazing.
But I'm not going to rant and squeal about that. No. It was after that. Entertainment Weekly has an article about the new Harry Potter article in this week's issue. They were wondering whether or not it will be as popular as it was when the books were still coming out. And I got a little angry. I mean, sure, some fans might have lost interest. But that's only because they have an incredibly short attention span. The true fans won't lose interest.
I'm angry about this for the same reason I was angry about the Twilight articles claiming they were replacing Harry Potter. David Yates said it right, though. He said "the audience has grown up with these characters...I can't think of any other movie franchise that has had that..." It's true. And any true fan will know that the journey isn't over yet.
So there, mom.

Okay...three. Over publicizing a band. Can anyone think of what company I'm referring to. That's right, Disney. Why does everyone who works at Disney have to be able to sing, dance, and act. And even if they can't do all three (sorry, Jobros, but you'd be better off sticking to the stage from what I've seen), Disney pretends they can. Please! *rolls eyes*
That's all I have to say about that. And do know that I still adore the Jonas Brothers, I just feel a little bad for them. I worry what will happen when they are "too old" for Disney...

And, finally, the real life stuff. There's two of them. Good stuff and bad stuff. I'll tell you the bad stuff first.
So...I'm sick of my friends. I'm sick of sitting with people, because all that ever happens is me feeling totally left out. I'm tired of it. It makes me really sad. I've known some of these people for years and years and years. It's depressing that the friends I know so well are worse friends that the people I barely know. Thanks guys.
But on to the good news. I posted a post about a month ago about Governor's Institute of Vermont. Well...I GOT IN!! Yup. Not for my first choice, which was Asian Cultures, but for Current Issues and Youth Activism, which, after looking at what we'd be doing on a daily basis, looks a lot more interesting than my original first choice. I'll be STAYING at a college for international studies in Brattleboro, and there will be international students on campus. I'm totally excited.
By the way, I'll be posting more writing soon. It just takes me a really long time to actually get stuff the way I want.
