Random-ness

Okay, so one of my friends was here today, and we randomly got to talking about...celebrity break ups.  Yeah, I know, right? *rolls eyes at self*  But seriously, I don't get why the public make such a big deal out it when teenagers break up in the limelight.  And so they sometimes make a big deal about it, (we were mainly talking about Joe Jonas and Taylor Swift), do we, as fans, really have to break up into teams?  I mean, seriously.  These are teenagers, and they will be immature.  I'm so sick of the scandal and wondering whether or not the songs are about each other.  That's not cool, seriously.  I'm so sick of it.  It's just really stupid.

And the names!  Nelena, Niley, Jemi, Jaylor, Jamilla, Bradgelina, Bennifer, Zanessa.  I mean, really?  Do we have to pick sides?  I mean, really, believe me, I get pairing wars.  But these are real people!  Do you know how many youtube channels exist simply to dedicate themselves to confronting and spreading rumors about Nelena and Niley.  It's really getting to be annoying.  I understand that you really love these people who you are obsessing over, but they are their own people.  Should we really be butting into their lives so much?  Should we really care as long as they are happy?

Then again, people in high school do that to people they know.  I guess it's second nature to make judgements and form opinions.  I just don't know why these poor celebrities' relationships are dragged into the public eye like they are, and why some celebrities welcome that attention.

Another thing I don't get is why people would spread rumors about them.  Is it to get a quick buck?  Because if so, everyone in the world is really sleazy.  I mean, I knew humans were inherantly evil, but COME ON!  I guess this is mainly just because of the many rumors I've been reading about people lately.  I just don't get why we do it.  I say 'we' because I do it too, and it makes me disgusted with myself, it really does.  Let me know...

Okay, I posted something about my real life pet peeves, or one of them.  The other one happens to be the sound of desks scraping against the floors at school, but that's besides the point.  I want to tell you my fanfiction pet peeves, or at least the one that's been bothering me lately.

First of all, bad grammar.  If you are serious about fanfiction enough to want to publish yours, doesn't it make sense to make sure you put commas in the right places, and write dialogue correctly, and capitalize appropriately?  Doesn't that make sense?  And if you don't do that the first time, or even the first few times, a lot of people I know comment on grammar.  If no one does, that's not really your fault, until you read other fanfics that have correct grammar and think "hey, I don't think I'm doing this right".  But really, if you know you aren't any good at grammar: GET A BETA!!  That's what we are for!  And it makes my eyes bleed so much less.  Then again, I'm a stickler for grammar, so something that really annoys me, might not necessarily annoy everyone else.

Something else that bugs me is, besides the obvious Mary Sue/Gary Stu thing, is when serious problems are resolved too quickly.  I mean, in one fic I read, someone was shot (and almost died) and recovered all in one chapter.  Isn't that a bit unrealistic?  I want to read something that will keep me interested, not something that only pretends to have a plot other than lovey fluffy dovey shit.
