I'm reading through the Monster Smackdown and the Angel Corebook ones now, and OMFG there's SO much that will be helpful in developing the world of 'In The Blood', and I'm still in the first chapter! There's this section where they create backstories for othe rpossible Hellmouths in the world, and then a section on different Demon dementions with some ready made examples!
And the 2nd chapter is all about Vampires with everything from the early history of Vampires and Slayers,and the effects of various things on them including Starvation... and there's a section about possibilities of having a Vampire as 'cast member' which gets me thinking of having one of my leads get turned at some point but retain their soul and therefore not be evil... or the demon that takes over is kidna like Ruby on SPN, not ENTIRELY evil, and they're willing to 'share' the body, therefore makign the character almsot schizophrenic seemign ebcause they can be their pre-vamp good self sometimes, but then they get down and dirty and downright viscious when the Demon is in control... lol...
And and and AND! They have a little section on Whistler and I'd already been thinking that Whistler should turn up because Ryan has obviously kept up with fighting evil, despite the fact that really Frank was as evil if not more evil than the 'monsters' out there... so what if Ryan has actually, over the years, made contact with folks like Whistler and Lorne (aka Angel's 'The Host')? I can just imagine a scene where he takes Kaitlin to Caritas (Caritas is still around in my universe because I LOVED it!) and whens he finds out about the singing/soul reading connection she startrs trying to get Ryan to sing and Lorne says that Ryan's been showing up for years, and he never sings... lol... a humorous little scene... lol...
And a small section talking about the Hyperion Hotel, and I would so like to have a Slayer School start in California (with Ryan doing some of the training) and ahve it based in the Hyperion in the guise of being a reform school for troubled kids... Like maybe... we know from the Buffy Season 8 Comics that there's some minor Watcher Training going on at the school in Scotland, but that, especially after meeting Ryan, Giles and Buffy decide that maybe specifically training teams of Scoobies might be a good idea, and that's what the Hyperion branch of the school does... although that would probably all be in a later story... lol...
And OMFG I wanna use Drusilla as a bad guy! I actually have this scene written that never really fit into any of my other universes that is a Ryan/Dean VS Drusilla scene and I love it and I think I could rework it slightly to fit...
I need to make some ITB art... lol... including icons...
