maybe the most that we can do is just see each other through it

Well, Peanut seems to be doing better. Relatively, that is. He's still not walking on his right back leg and that worries me somewhat that he never will. At the same time, he's drinking water and foraging in his food bowl and the wheezing (while not completely gone) is getting better, as is his nose. He doesn't seem interested in running on his wheel, but his foot is probably still sore and I have a feeling that I'm going to have to get him a wheel that doesn't have holes in it, what with his leg and all.

It's still upsetting. I still want to cry everytime I put on his ointment and give him his antibiotics because it's very obvious that everything is not well. But it's getting better and I can only hope that, with time, he'll heal completely. And just pray that the lumps aren't cancer ... Oh, and by the way? If I hear, "You do know that hamsters only live for two or three years, right?" one more time I'm going to kick someone. Every vet feels the need to tell me that and everytime I just want to be like, "Yeah, see, I'm a responsible owner and know this already and, for furture reference, that's not helpful." Dude, just say you think it's his time - don't give me average life spans. I'm also getting tired of being looked at like it's stupid to treat the hamster ... if I can help Peanut, I'm going to.

On a more positive note, Mango went and got his first dental cleaning today which had me completely freaked out. I know the dangers of dogs being put under and just ... with everything that happened with Peanut and everything else that is currently going wrong, I was paranoid all day. Seriously. I was going to leave a comment on someone's last.fm about cute, fluffy puppies dying but erased it out of this ... weird idea that it would, like, become a self-fulfilling prophecy. In any case, all went well and his teeth are sparkly white.

I am far too animal stressed out.
