It's a beautiful day. The sun is shining. I'm listening to my chill playlist. This moment is pretty good ...
Last night was interesting. Chris called Shaun and invited us over to hang out and, though I didn't know Chris or his girlfriend (Catherine) all that well, it was super fun. I actually think that I have a lot in common with Catherine - her dvd library was so ridiculously close to mine it was eerie and I cannot count how many times that night I said, "Dude ... me, too!!!". Besides, she had the Eddie Izzard dvd so she has my everlasting love for that.
Ben and Brandon got there a bit later and I spent the greater part of the night (seriously, like two or three hours) having an interesting discussion with Brandon about social dynamics. And other things ... but I won't get into those things. Either way, it was fun. I swear, though, that I sense a bit of dislike (of me) from Ben, which I don't really understand.
Speaking of Brandon, I've been enlisted by him to make a mix of things that are in the vein of Fall Out Boy and I am just failing miserably. I mean, two years ago (possibly even one) I would've had it done in minutes. I don't really follow that scene anymore so it's kind of hard to find artists that I think he hasn't heard of and don't cross the realm of excessively cheesy (super hard). And there are definitely days where I listen to emo for hours on end trying to find stuff and, at the end of this, I'm pretty sure that I'll never be able to listen to the genre again.
However ... DJ Mal shall not fail in this quest. (I was trying to find some cheesy movie and/or tv reference that correlated but my brain isn't cooperating ... Xena, perhaps? Mallory, Musical Warrior Princess? God, that's awful.)
