So, happy days were headed my way: the time had come to geek out because my technologically gifted boyfriend had built me a desktop computer! I provided myself with some nifty speakers and he had bought me a totally radical desk (and a ridiculously awesome 17" LCD flat screen monitor ... WOW), so I was going to geek out with my music blarin' and it would all be to the backdrop of the oh-so-pretty-pretty Windows Vista.
But did you know that technologically geeking out can be incredibly hindered by the fact that your OS doesn't, like, run anything. Oh, yeah, I was super stoked about the opacity and the nifty little gagets button and all of the other cool but completely useless things that Vista has under its belt. Yet, thus far, all Windows Vista has turned out to be is a big pain in my butt. Feel my anger as I couldn't get AIM to run. Sense my horror when my sound card wouldn't work ... my dreams have been crushed and it's all Windows fault and I'm just going to sit here and have an overreactive tantrum!
... And then I remember my technologically gifted boyfriend. And he comes and waves his magic wand over my defective computer and POOF! My dreams are restored. (Although, if we're being honest here, it's really only good for being pretty.) Oh, except now I have to figure out how everything works. You have no idea how hard I wanted to smash my computer screen when I couldn't find add/remove programs ... what a stupid thing to change. Stupid, stupid Vista. Dude, using this I feel like such a technological infant. However! I shall prevail. Vista shall not get the best of this computer user ... ha!
OhTheCommotion: This "Comedy Central presents..." was brought to me by Windows Vista
OhTheCommotion: But this show came on at the time it was scheduled to come on
