Thanks to a wonderfully eye-opening and inspiring conversation last night, I started today with a renewed, positive attitude towards life...peace...happiness... everything. It felt great.
I was cheerfully typing up a report when my Mom called and dropped the bomb -- I have a new roommate.
She told me I got a letter from the school which included the name, address, and phone number of Carolyn from Hoover--the girl who is to live with me for 2003-2004. My eyes watered, my jaw dropped, and I yelled "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?" into the receiver in the middle of my crowded office. Mom started all over, but I realized that it was no time for talking...it was time for ACTION. Long story short, I teamed up with Victoria's mom (in Chicago) and got in touch with the people at school to make them fix their mistake. And now Roomie's back in 214. Whew. Drama drama drama. I think I was on the verge of passing out at some point-- yeah, I worry a lot. Anyway it's all worked out now. I'm sure Carolyn's a nice girl, but she's no
Vixle.
Something else came out of my conversation with Victoria's mom-- she sent me the website of the house we stayed at in Dingle, Ireland! The owner who let us crash there spent all of June fixing it up, and now it's all ready to be rented out--for $250 a night. Here it is!
