Horrorfind Weekend 8

This Horrorfind freakin' rocked. I didn't actually expect it to be as good as the last 2 we attended. There weren't a bunch of big names. The main reason I wanted to go was to meet Malcolm McDowell. Then Donna invited Jen & Season & although I like them, I always thought of it as our thing. Turns out it was very cool that they came. None of us had a bunch of money. Season & Jen are better (maybe it's just Season, but still) at pushing their way up there & basically saying "I want a picture with you", even though their not buying a signature. I guess at least one of us bought a photo from each person we got pics w/, aside from Udo Kier. Plus add that we were a group of 4 sexy girls & we were going up to guys, they weren't really planning on turning us down.

Ken Foree (whose name I've been mispronouncing for 2 years) even remembered Donna & I, he called us the gruesome twosome & was like excited to see us. Plus he loved all of the attention he got from us girls. We went to his table twice. The first time Season asked how much a signed pic was & he explained about how all of the guests were different & gave her a rundown. Plus he mentioned how he had the dirty Devil's Rejects pics last year to me & Donna but not this year. He also asked for some sugar. So I gave him a kiss on the cheek. Season said she meant to do that but gave him one on the mouth & he was surprised. Season bought a pic. Plus he asked us if we were going to the bar later & Donna & I said yeah then he made a double entendre about staying all night. After we'd left his table, Season said she should have got a pic. So I said we'd come back later & do that. We did come back a few hours later after we did some other stuff & took pics w/ him. It was funny cause when we showed up some guy was talking to him & he saw us standing there & said something like "Excuse me, I have to talk to these beautiful ladies". Later that night Donna & I saw Ken outside the bar as we were leaving. He was talking to some woman & saying crazy the costume competition had been. Then he gestured to us & said ask them. We said yeah. We were in a hurry to get to beer pong so I couldn't wait until he was done talking to her. So I leaned over & hugged him & said it had been cool to see him again & he kissed the side of my head with my stupid hair in the way.

The signing room was a lot emptier than last year. Almost all of the guests had atleast a small part in the new Halloween movie. I heard Ken Foree tell someone that he's only in it for 2 minutes, but made the trailer, so he's happy. Some guy running the Malcolm McDowell lined joked to us were we disappointed that we didn't have to wait that long.

We only had to wait a few minutes to meet Malcom McDowell. As opposed to the 3 hours in Bruce Campbell's line 2 years ago to only have them close the line & not get up there. Malcolm McDowell was very nice. Donna & I bought the Korova Milk Bar pic to get signed. He mentioned something to us like "That was a long time ago, I was so young". Donna kept telling me how cool his accent was. So awesome. I told him that I'd loved Fantasy Island too & he said it was fun & it was too bad it ended so soon. Plus we got pics w/ him. While I was posing w/ him he asked if I was local & I said "sorta". I feel so displaced lately. Later I joked w/ Donna like, why does he want to know, so he can come over. Plus he rubbed my back while I was getting the pic, aw. Donna said he did the same to her. I was so excited I was shaking while I was taking Donna's pics. I hoped they'd come out good, not blurry & they did. Season & Jen also had their pics taken w/ him, by Donna. Malcolm joked & called her the official photographer. She said "I can stay".

Then all of us chicks ambushed Udo Kier for his pic. He seemed sort of serious & reserved. Donna & I later saw he definitely wasn't. Lew Temple was really cool. He was so excited & all of us took a big group shot w/ us on our cameras. Some nice guy dressed like a count who was standing behind us offered to take them for us. Donna & Season got signed pics from him. Lew talked about working w/ Rob Zombie. He had a mask like the one of his face used in Devil's Rejects. Donna mentioned coming back later & getting a pic w/ her & him & the mask but he was busy & we had to leave to go eat. Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters) was charging to get a pic w/ him. Jen paid him. Then Season went to pay him & he turned her money down. Donna & I didn't know until later he had said that it covered all of us. Otherwise we would have got pics w/ him too. He asked if we were in school. We still aren't sure if he meant High School or College. Jen & Season were excited about some of the other actors from old school movies me & Donna weren't into, so that was cool for them. Dee Wallace Stone was one of them they talked to. She was pretty good co-hosting the costume competition last year. She said something to Season about the guys coming up to meet her & she would think "Hi, you're gonna be a virgin til your 30".

It was in the signing room that I spotted some really cute shaggy haired blonde guy at a table for Fear of Clowns. I mentioned it to Donna & we joked about fighting over him the rest of the day. Turns out he was an actor in the movie. Later he was walking around dressed in a Children of the Corn costume for the competition. He gave a really serious monologue during the competition which most people seemed weirded out by, but Donna & I cheered him on. Later when Donna & I were buzzed waiting in the costume line, I went to go to the restroom, saw him walking in front of me & touched his arm & said "Hey baby" as I entered the ladies room. I didn't see his response or if he even saw me cause some chick was exiting at the same time & if I'd looked his way I would have cracked her in the face w/ the door. Later we saw him at the bar all alone & thought of going up to him, but by the time I had my courage up, his friend came & got him.

We also checked out the dealer's room. Nothing that cool there. Some guys selling porn were all excited when Season was checking out "Cum on My Tattoo". I bought a mouse soap for a dollar. Deon Richmond from Not Another Teen Movie was at the Anchor Bay Booth promoting the new movie Hatchet. They were doing a trivia game though & when I told him I loved him in that movie he basically blew me off. Ah. All of us took in an hour demonstration on Zombie Make Up by Weabeasties (the same guy who ran it last year). I still have his card from last year & plan to contact him for Zombies Are My Neighbors, he does good work. The demonstration was surprisingly (compared to previous years) packed. As was whatever short movie they were playing later that we couldn't get into.

We went to some Mexican place to eat, cause Season raved about their burritos. Later Donna & I discussed them in private & decided they weren't that great. We kept our cups & got ice in them so we could fill them w/ Smirnoff back at the hotel to get a buzz while waiting for the costume competition. Season & Jen couldn't take the wait & left. Donna & I left the hotel to go down the street for more Smirnoff. Then we got our buzz on in line. Donna still bitched about the wait, even though it was no where near as long as previous years. I didn't talk to anyone in line this year, which is actually unusual. I noticed some people wearing their board member shirts & buttons, which I found funny, cause I still didn't see random people approaching each other, which I thought was the point. Donna kept getting messages & calls from Jason & Salvador. I got one from that creep Devon guy who likes Donna, ugh.

By the time the competition rolled around our buzzes were gone. That was okay, cause the whole thing was surreal enough anyhow. It started off fairly normal. Then partway through the celebrity judges wanted to take a bathroom break. That's when Dee Wallace Stone, who was tipsy & already had balloons as fake boobs shoved in her shirt started collecting tips in her fake cleavage. The weirdest thing was somebody having their little kid doing it. Then someone else sent their kid up w/ a big bill & Dee said "Take this back to your daddy & tell him he's drunk & stoned." It was funny. Then Ken came back & saw what was going on & acted like we was gonna take off his top & undo his pants to get tips. I think he got one from a guy. He joked to Dee that she made more then than during the day at her table. There were plenty of risque or so they seemed to the judges costumes. At one point an actress got her drink dumped on her by a contest by accident. Then later the same thing happened to Lew w/ his water & the actress was dabbing his crotch. There were tons of dirty jokes. The actresses fondled a spear which had Dee saying "You know everyone knows we own vibrators now". Also some young teenage boy contestant took his shirt off & the female judges inappropriately groped him.

But all of this had nothing on Udo Kier. Who towards the end got a hold of a microphone & told Ken he wouldn't give it up, that they'd have to pry it from his hands. Sometimes it was hard to understand what he said cause of his thick German accent. He was so drunk, on white wine no less. At one point Ken got him a refill on his wine & Udo accidently knocked it on the same actress who'd already gotten wet. The weirdest thing was when Udo said he wanted to tell us his sexual fantasy. "Every since I saw the werewolf, I thought, I want to have sex with the werewolf." The werewolf in question was an original costume contestant, some sort of bat werewolf thing, who Donna & everyone else had been taking pics of all day. Later after the contest was over many of us hung around & saw something truly surreal. Udo got to kiss the werewolf. He ended up w/ makeup all over his face. At one point someone shoved their friend, dressed as Hunter S. Thompson up there. Later looking through the pics, I thought it was cool cause it seems like something you'd see out of Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas when he's all drugged up.

After that we hit the bar. There weren't tons of celebs around. My screwdriver was full of pulp, so Donna drank half of it. Udo arrived & couldn't even get served, so someone bought him a drink. Donna kept following him & saying she wanted to get a pic w/ or talk to him. I kept telling her to say something in German. She never did though. We didn't leave til probably quarter til 12. Then we went to a liquor store & then off to beer pong.
