Yesterday I went down to my clinic shift after sleeping in until 2pm! There was reason for this: Sunday was mother's day. You see, working in a restaurant on a holiday means you are going home tired and aching all over.
I completely forgot about the circus Veneti's becomes, so I walked into work ready for my usual shift with only two other waitresses... to see the place opened up on top, banquet tables everywhere, Tina and Elias (i actually worked with other busers!), and the salad bar was already up! It was crazy - I left an hour after I usually do... 270 reservations that night. Elias was all excited that he got to work with me (that was nice to hear) but wanted to know when I'd be able to work weekends again...
I had an ex-student come into clinic on Monday, so I had to work on someone that had already passed their board exams... My clinic supervisor came in to do my professionalism report while I was working on this person, but the girl(client) was so nice she totally relaxed me and I ended up getting perfect on my report and was told that I "have great hands" by the RMT! I felt pretty good :)
I took the wrong skytrain on the way home. At first I was pissed off, but the skytrain going the other way happened to house a person I'd talked to before briefly. We ended up talking the entire way back to langley, which was quite enjoyable. Marti and Taylor came over and we made insane sundaes
Today I had another bus experience. I had forgotten my walkman in my locker after school, and was too lazy to walk the two blocks all the way back to school from the skytrain... so I was unarmed. I didn't think anything would actually happen... but I was looking out the window at scott road maybe, I look around to see if I need to move and this guy goes "hey" at me.
I look, and he says "where are you getting off?"
I'm surprised and say "surrey?" real quiet.
"would you like to go get a coffee?"
Now I'm staring. I manage to shake my head and say "I need to get home" (I didn't really...) It was awkward till surrey... Im going down the stairs to go to my bus and the guy's at the bottom already looking at me... "can I at least get your number?" wtf. Ironically, I was wearing a necklace that said "fuck off". I was an awkward no... flattering, but I am never forgetting music again! At least the guy was wearing a tool shirt; that was pretty cool.
Speaking of music, my dresden dolls cd came in so I got it today!!! The dude at the counter claimed it was one of his favourite cds and gave me a smile that had me feeling like a 12 year old schoolgirl... Marti was at A & B sound! Really strange coincidence, like the skytrain mix up yesterday, it worked out perfectly! I was "browsing" thinking of going and talking to the dude at the counter... I would have missed Marti if I hadn't lingered, and if I hadn't ran into Marti I would have had to walk a looong time to get home (that was my original plan). AND Marti has a cd player in his car so we ended up getting to listen to the cd right away.
My shambhala ticket came too... Its all hologram-like. Had the house to myself to blast my cd and make a book cover for a text. Oh I almost forgot - I made a hemp necklace for Paul at school on friday... and he came up to me this morning and he had bought me a bottle of relaxus massage lotion as a thank you! That's the good stuff! What a day! :D
