So, the Lynxcub and I saw a flyer for an event called the
Walk to End Canine Cancer a while back, and the conversation went kind of like this:
Lynxcub: "What's that?"
Me: "It's a flyer for a walk to raise money to help save dogs with cancer, and help keep dogs from getting cancer. People sign up to go on a walk with their dog, and then they get people to pledge money, which goes to help the dogs."
Lynxcub: "Just like Daddy when he
climbs up the CN Tower stairs for the World Wildlife Fund?"
Me: "Yes, just like that."
Lynxcub (very excitedly): "I want to do it!"
Me: "Are you sure? We'll need to get people to sponsor you, and it might be kind of a long walk."
Lynxcub: "Yes! I want to help the doggies! And if I get tired, you can just carry me!"
The Lynxcub loves dogs, and has been known to beg me to take him into fenced off-leash areas at parks so that he can meet the dogs (even if he's still a little shy with big ones). This is his first-ever charity event (obviously, I'll be going with him, as will
g33kboi since she'll be here that weekend, but he's the official walker).
So if you would like to help him help the doggies, please
sponsor him! Thanks!
